Compassion.
It’s not just a lovely word. It’s a reflection of how churches, volunteers, and community come together to respond to needs with the love of Christ.
And compassion is more than a feeling. Compassion is love put into action through practical service, generous hearts, and a willingness to walk alongside neighbors in need. As Colossians 3:23 reminds us, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart.” Whether sorting donations, mentoring families, serving at a church food bank, or simply offering a helping hand, service becomes an expression of faith and powerful evidence of God’s compassion at work in our community.
One beautiful example of compassion comes through local churches that host diaper drives for Love INC to support families in our community. By inviting their congregation to participate, churches help meet a practical need for parents who are working hard to provide for their children. Every donated package of diapers or container of wipes represents a tangible expression of care. And Love INC is able to distribute thousands of diapers and wipes to support local families facing challenges. When churches respond to real needs this way, they demonstrate how faith is lived out through service and giving. And compassion reaches into our community. As one pastor remarked of the diaper drive they hosted,
“We are so grateful to support the mission of Love Inc and the people [you serve].” -Daniel S, Trinity Anglican
We also see compassion in the ways Love INC ministry partners show up in the community day after day. Recently, Love INC had the opportunity to spend time collaborating with CrossPurpose and also send some of our IMPACT clients through their training.
“On behalf of everyone at CrossPurpose, we want to sincerely thank you and the entire Love INC team for the meaningful partnership we share. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work alongside an organization that reflects such similar values in helping people reach their full potential while loving and serving them in the name of Christ.” -The Team at CrossPurpose
These kind words serve as a reminder that when the Body of Christ unites around a common mission, the impact reaches far beyond what any one church, ministry, or organization could accomplish alone. Compassion is moving together…serving, loving, and creating change in the community around us.
As we reflect on these moments, we invite you to join us. Pray for the churches, volunteers, businesses, and ministry partners who make this work possible. Ask God to help us each see our community through the eyes of Jesus so we may continue to be His hands and feet, sharing His love in ways that bring hope, dignity, and transformation to our community.
