Stories of IMPACT/CONNECTION/RENEWAL/GOD'S LOVE

Renewed Treasures Blesses our Community

In anticipation of our 10th year anniversary (August 25th) of opening Renewed Treasures; we have begun collecting stories from our volunteers who were there at the beginning. Bev Hertler (St. James Presbyterian) and Debbie Miller (St. Luke’s UMC) shared with us their experience of a young single father who often came into the store with vouchers from Love INC.

In one particular shopping trip, he was able to get a bicycle that had just been donated that morning. While bikes are rarely accepted or sold, he had come in looking for a way of transportation to get to his new job and was overwhelmed by God’s provision. On another visit, he was so touched by another volunteer (Fran West of St. Luke’s UMC) who decided to read a book to his children. With tears in his eyes, he shared with Debbie, “no one ever reads to them, with working multiple jobs, I never have the time.” Fran had them captivated and it was a familiar scene we’ve seen for the last 10 years – Volunteers loving our neighbors through God’s provision of affordable and high quality items.
