08/06/20 – After breakfast, we loaded up on water and hit the trail. Shortly after leaving camp, I met up with a buck deer in the middle of the trail. He didn’t stick around long, and bounded off into the forest. As we entered Segment 27, a portion of the trail followed an old logging

08/05/20 – I woke up well rested. We had breakfast and were out of camp by about 7:30. Once again, we encountered a large number of bikers. At the top of Blackhawk Pass, a relatively steep climb, several bikers were resting there when we arrived, huffing and puffing, joining them at the top of the pass.
